Privacy Policy

The short version: Clips stores your clipboard data only on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We never collect, see, or sell your data. There are no analytics, no ads, and no accounts required.
1. Information We Collect
Clips is designed with privacy at its core. Here is exactly what happens with your data:
Local Only
- Clipboard content — Text, URLs, colors, and other content you copy is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- iCloud sync (optional) — If you enable iCloud sync, your clips are synced via Apple's CloudKit to your own private iCloud account. No one else, including us, can access this data.
- AI processing (optional) — Any AI features in Clips use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Your content is never sent to any external AI service or server.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect any personal information (name, email, phone number).
- We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not display advertisements.
- We do not require account registration.
- We do not have access to your clipboard content — it never leaves your device or private iCloud account.
- We do not collect crash reports or usage statistics beyond what Apple provides anonymously through App Store analytics (opt-in by the user in iOS Settings).
3. iCloud & CloudKit
When iCloud sync is enabled, data is stored in your personal CloudKit private database. This data is protected by Apple's security infrastructure and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no ability to access, read, or modify your CloudKit data.
4. In-App Purchases
Clips offers an optional "Clips Pro" subscription. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store your payment information. For subscription management, please refer to Apple's subscription management page.
5. Children's Privacy
Clips is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we collect no personal information from any user, this policy applies universally.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
